  • Vera Konstantinovna Selezneva made a great contribution to the development of horticulture in the region. Since 1950, she has prepared and sent to collective and state farms 800 thousand strawberry runners, 230 thousand currant cuttings from the experimental field of the regional agricultural complex station in the Kholmsky district. Mikhail Tikhonovich Ryabukhin has been working there for only three years. But he has already managed to grow and send to collective farms more than 7 thousand apple tree seedlings. In 1953, he budded 5 thousand wildings for the collective farms of the region.
  • The team of the Tomari forestry enterprise helps the collective farms "Zarya" and "Trudovik". With the beginning of field work, three powerful tractors were sent to "Zarya", they raised 86 hectares of new land. In "Trudovik" during the intense days of sowing, 35-40 workers and employees of the forestry enterprise help plant potatoes and cabbage every day.

  • The Dalneft Association has issued over 600 health vouchers to oil workers, and the regional trade union committee has issued another 228. Dozens of city and suburban workers fly out of the Okhinsky airport every day to Alupka, Yevpatoria, Odessa, Gelendzhik, Yessentuki, Tskhaltubo, Sochi, Pyatigorsk, Gurzuf, Gagra and other health resorts. A large number of vouchers have been received for sanatoriums in the Far East, Siberia and various holiday homes.
  • Pioneers from Shirokopadsky District visited Aleksandrovsk. They walked dozens of kilometers, collecting a large herbarium along the way. The pioneers visited the local history museum, got acquainted with the natural resources, flora and fauna of the northern part of Sakhalin, listened to a talk about the history of the discovery of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, and about A.P. Chekhov's stay on Sakhalin. The schoolchildren visited the houses where the writer stayed, and went on excursions to the city's industrial enterprises.
